What Is Bible Chain?

Bible Chain is an online Bible character game in which players connect two people from Scripture.

Instead of choosing from multiple-choice answers, you search for characters and decide who belongs next in the chain.

Every character must have a direct biblical relationship with the person before them.

Rahab → Boaz → Obed → Jesse → David

This chain works because:

* Rahab was the mother of Boaz.

* Boaz was the father of Obed.

* Obed was the father of Jesse.

How to Play Bible Chain

### 1. Start with the two assigned Bible characters

Each daily puzzle gives you:

* A Target character

* A difficulty level

Your chain must begin with the Start character and finish with the Target character.

### 2. Search for the next character

Use the character search to find someone directly connected to the person currently at the end of your chain.

You might search for:

* A brother or sister

* A husband or wife

* A ministry partner

* Someone involved in the same biblical event

Select the person you believe forms a valid connection.

### 3. Build the chain one relationship at a time

Every new character must connect directly to the previous character.

It is not enough for two people to live during the same period or appear somewhere in the same book of the Bible. Bible Chain requires a meaningful and verified scriptural relationship.

How Bible Chain Scoring Works

A perfect Daily Challenge score is 100 points.

The scoring system rewards completion, efficiency, independence, and speed.

### Complete the puzzle: 50 points

Reaching the Target character with a completely valid chain earns the main completion reward.

You do not have to find the shortest possible path to complete the puzzle.

### Match the optimal path: 25 bonus points

Complete the chain using the lowest possible number of links to receive the optimal-path bonus.

This is where strategy becomes important. A valid relationship may move you toward the target, but another character could create a shorter route.

### Finish without hints: 15 bonus points

Hints can help when you are stuck, but completing the puzzle without using one earns an additional 15 points.

Using a hint can still be valuable when it teaches you a relationship you did not know.

### Finish within 90 seconds: 10 bonus points

Solve the entire chain within 90 seconds to earn the speed bonus.

Speed matters, but every relationship must still be accurate and supported by Scripture.

### Maximum daily score: 100 points

A perfect result requires you to:

* Complete the puzzle

* Match the optimal path

* Use no hints

* Finish within 90 seconds

What Is the Optimal Bible Chain?

The optimal path is the shortest verified chain between the daily Start and Target characters.

Suppose you complete a puzzle in six links, but the characters can be connected in four. Your answer can still be valid and earn completion points, but you will not receive the optimal-path bonus.

Finding the shortest route may require thinking beyond the first relationship that comes to mind.

Family relationships are often useful because genealogies connect many important Bible characters. Ministry partnerships and shared events can also create shortcuts between different stories or sections of Scripture.

Use Hints to Discover New Relationships

Bible Chain includes hints for moments when you cannot see the next step.

Using a hint means you will not receive the no-hints bonus. However, it can also introduce you to a Bible relationship you may not have remembered.

This makes hints part of the learning experience rather than simply a way to skip the puzzle.

After receiving a hint, review the related Scripture reference. The next time those characters appear, you may recognize the connection immediately.
