Introducing Verse Recall: A New Daily Bible Memorization Game

Memorizing Scripture can be deeply rewarding, but getting a verse from “I recognize this” to “I can actually recall it” is not always easy.

Reading the same verse again and again works for some people. For others, it can start to feel more like repetition than learning.

That is why we built Verse Recall, a new daily Bible memorization game on FaithBlitz designed to help you learn Scripture a little at a time.

Instead of asking you to memorize an entire verse immediately, Verse Recall gradually removes the support as you work through four short rounds. By the end, you are rebuilding the verse from memory.

How Verse Recall Works

Every day, everyone on FaithBlitz receives the same Bible verse. A new verse arrives at midnight Eastern Time, giving you one shared Scripture challenge to work through each day.

The first round starts gently with Fill in the Blank. One word is removed from the verse, and you choose the correct answer from four options.

Next comes Word Bank, where several words disappear and you place the missing words back into the verse from a shuffled selection.

In Rebuild the Verse, the support gets lighter. The verse is divided into phrase chunks, and you put those phrases back into the correct order.

Finally, Full Recall shows you only the Scripture reference. If the day's verse is John 3:16, for example, you see the reference and reconstruct the entire verse using shuffled word tiles.

That progression is the heart of Verse Recall.

You are not being asked to stare at a verse until you somehow remember it. Each round asks you to retrieve a little more from memory until, by the final round, you have essentially rebuilt the whole passage yourself.

A daily session is scored out of 110. Hints are available when you need them, although using them reduces your possible score. Mistakes will give you a quick shake to let you know something is not quite right, but they never end your session. You can keep working until you finish the verse.

Verse Recall uses the World English Bible (WEB), a public-domain Bible translation written in modern English.

Build a Daily Scripture Habit — Then Practice More

You do not need a FaithBlitz account to try Verse Recall. Anyone can play the complete daily verse as a guest.

If you create a free account, your daily play becomes part of your FaithBlitz progress. Completing the daily Verse Recall earns +25 XP, with an additional +10 XP perfect bonus, and your daily completion counts toward your FaithBlitz streak.

The daily verse is only one part of the game.

Verse Recall also includes Practice Mode, where you can browse 30 verses across four collections: Popular Verses, Words of Jesus, Psalms & Proverbs, and Faith & Encouragement.

Practice lets you return to verses whenever you want and work on them at your own pace.

As you practice, each verse can move through three mastery stages: Learning, Familiar, and Mastered.

A verse reaches Mastered when you score at least 90 while using no more than two mistakes and one hint. The goal is not simply to complete a verse once. It is to gradually reach the point where the words are becoming genuinely familiar.

That makes Practice Mode useful whether you are trying to memorize a favorite passage, work through the words of Jesus, or simply spend a few extra minutes in Scripture.

FaithBlitz started with Bible quizzes, then added games like Bible Chain and our Bible naming challenges. Verse Recall adds something different: a game built around remembering Scripture itself.

It is short enough to become part of a daily routine, but challenging enough to make you actively recall the words instead of simply reading past them.

Some days you may finish perfectly. Other days you may need a hint or make a few mistakes.
