Looking for VBS quiz ideas that actually keep kids engaged?

Bible quizzes are one of the easiest VBS activities to run. They need almost no supplies, they work for any group size, and they help kids remember the Bible stories you taught all week.

FaithBlitz has free VBS-ready Bible quizzes you can print or play online, plus a full library of kids Bible quizzes for every story and theme.

Below you'll find 25 quiz ideas and game formats organized by how you can use them — daily review, team games, closing programs, and take-home activities.

Daily Review Quiz Ideas (Ideas 6–10)

### 6. The Five-Minute Closer

End each VBS day with 3 quiz questions about that day's Bible story. Kids answer by raising hands or moving to corners of the room.

### 7. Morning Review Warm-Up

Start each morning with 2 questions from yesterday's lesson. Repetition across days is what makes the stories stick.

### 8. Question of the Day

Post one quiz question on a whiteboard at check-in. Kids submit answers on slips of paper. Reveal the answer at closing time and celebrate everyone who got it right.

### 9. Sticker Chart Quiz Track

Each correct answer during the week earns a sticker. At the end of the week, everyone with 5 or more stickers gets a small prize. Simple, and even shy kids participate.

### 10. Teacher vs. Kids

Read a quiz question. Kids vote on the answer as a group. If the group is right, kids get a point. If wrong, the teachers get a point. Kids love beating the teachers.

Team Game Formats (Ideas 11–17)

### 11. Bible Quiz Relay

Split into two teams. One player from each team runs to the front, and the first to slap the table gets to answer. Correct answer = 1 point. Wrong answer = other team can steal.

### 12. Four Corners Quiz

Label the four corners of the room A, B, C, and D. Read a question with four answer options — kids run to the corner they think is correct. Kids in the right corner stay standing; play until one champion remains.

### 13. Beach Ball Toss Quiz

Write numbers 1–10 on a beach ball. Toss it around the circle. Whoever catches it answers the question matching the number closest to their right thumb.

### 14. Boys vs. Girls Showdown

A classic for a reason. Alternate questions between teams. Track the score on a big whiteboard all week — announce the weekly winner at the closing program.

### 15. Bible Quiz Baseball

Set up four bases. Easy questions are singles, medium questions are doubles, and hard questions are home runs. Three wrong answers = three outs and teams switch.

### 16. Balloon Pop Answers

Put question numbers inside balloons. A kid pops a balloon, finds the number, and the leader reads that question from the printed quiz sheet.

### 17. Team Huddle

Give teams 30 seconds to discuss each question before answering. This lets younger kids participate — older kids naturally explain the story to them, which reinforces it for everyone.

Closing Program Ideas (Ideas 18–21)

### 18. Parent vs. Kid Quiz-Off

At the closing program, invite parents on stage to answer the same quiz their kids took during the week. Kids love watching parents miss questions they know.

### 19. The Week in 10 Questions

Run the VBS Bible Quiz for Kids live at the closing ceremony as a whole-group review of everything covered during the week.

### 20. Quiz Champion Ceremony

Track quiz scores through the week and crown a Quiz Champion (or one champion per age group) at the closing program with a certificate.

### 21. Family Take-Home Challenge

Send each family home with a printed quiz and answer key. Challenge families to complete it together at dinner during the week after VBS.

Printable and Station Ideas (Ideas 22–25)

### 22. Quiz Station Rotation

If your VBS uses station rotations (crafts, games, snacks), add a quiz station. Print the quiz for that day's story and have a leader run it as a group activity.

### 23. Early Finisher Sheets

Print quizzes as quiet activities for kids who finish crafts early. The Scripture references let them look up answers in their Bibles.

### 24. Rainy Day Backup Pack

Print 3–4 quizzes before the week starts and keep them in a folder. When the outdoor game gets rained out, you have an instant backup activity.

### 25. Volunteer Prep Quiz

Give your VBS volunteers the quiz before the week starts. If your teen helpers know the answers, they can help the kids find them. If they don't, they'll learn the stories too.
