How your base score is calculated
Every quiz question is worth one point. Answer it correctly and you earn the point. Answer incorrectly and you don't. Your base score is simply the number of correct answers out of the total number of questions.
So if a quiz has 10 questions and you answer 8 correctly, your base score is 8/10. This raw score is what you see displayed on the results screen immediately after finishing a quiz.
Weighted scores and difficulty multipliers
Your base score is converted into weighted leaderboard points using this formula:
Weighted Score = Correct Answers × 10 × Difficulty Multiplier
The difficulty multipliers are: Easy — ×1.0 (standard) Medium — ×1.5 Hard — ×2.0
So a perfect score on a 10-question easy quiz earns 100 points. The same perfect score on a medium quiz earns 150 points, and on a hard quiz earns 200 points.
This means harder quizzes are genuinely more rewarding — not just more difficult. If you're trying to climb the leaderboard, prioritising medium and hard quizzes is more efficient than repeating easy ones.
Streak bonus points
Maintaining a daily streak earns bonus points on top of your weighted score. The bonuses are:
3-day streak — +25 bonus points 7-day streak — +100 bonus points 14-day streak — +200 bonus points 30-day streak — +500 bonus points
These bonuses stack. Hitting a 30-day streak earns all four bonuses simultaneously — a total of +825 bonus points on top of whatever you scored in the quiz. Streak bonuses are only awarded once per streak milestone, not every day you're at that level.
Streak bonuses are only awarded on days when your score is not capped (see the daily cap section below).
XP — experience points
XP (experience points) is your permanent, all-time score on FaithBlitz. It never resets, even at the end of a season.
XP is earned the same way as leaderboard points — weighted score plus any streak bonuses. Every point you earn goes toward both your monthly leaderboard ranking and your permanent XP total.
Your XP is displayed on your profile page and serves as a long-term measure of your total Bible knowledge and consistency on the platform. Two players with the same monthly score can have very different XP totals depending on how long they've been playing.
The daily score cap
To keep the leaderboard competitive and fair, FaithBlitz limits leaderboard points to your first 20 quiz completions per day. After 20 completions in a single day, additional quiz plays are recorded but award zero leaderboard points or XP.
This prevents anyone from gaming the leaderboard by replaying easy quizzes hundreds of times in a single day. The daily cap resets at midnight UTC.
You can always see whether your score was capped on the results screen — a warning message appears if the cap was reached before your play counted.
Monthly leaderboard and seasons
Your weighted score from every quiz you complete accumulates throughout the month. Your monthly total determines your rank on the leaderboard, which updates in real time.
Seasons run quarterly. At the end of each season, the top performers are recognised and the monthly leaderboard resets to zero. Your XP and full quiz history are never deleted — only the seasonal leaderboard rankings reset.
To appear on the leaderboard at all, you need a free FaithBlitz account. Guest plays increment the quiz play count but are not attributed to any user.
What the result labels mean
After finishing a quiz you'll see a result label based on your percentage score:
90–100% — Scripture Scholar 🏆 70–89% — Bible Believer ✝️ 50–69% — Keep Studying 📖 0–49% — Room to Grow 🙏
These labels are just for fun — they don't affect your score or leaderboard position. What matters for the leaderboard is your weighted score, not your percentage.
