What are the Beatitudes?+
The Beatitudes are eight blessings that Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-10). Each beatitude describes a group of people who are blessed by God and explains what they will receive. They teach us about God's values and what it means to live a blessed life according to Jesus's teachings.
Why did Jesus teach the Beatitudes?+
Jesus taught the Beatitudes to show His followers what a blessed and meaningful life looks like according to God's standards. Rather than focusing on worldly success, power, or wealth, Jesus explained that true blessing comes from spiritual qualities like humility, mercy, purity of heart, and peacemaking. The Beatitudes challenge us to think differently about what is truly important in life.
How can I apply the Beatitudes in my daily life?+
You can apply the Beatitudes by practicing humility, showing mercy to others, pursuing what is right, working for peace, and being kind even when others are mean to you. Start by choosing one beatitude each week and thinking about how you can live it out. For example, you might practice being a peacemaker by helping friends resolve conflicts, or show mercy by being kind to someone who has hurt you.
