How long was Moses on Mount Sinai receiving the law from God before the Israelites made the golden calf?
Exodus 32:1 states that when the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered to Aaron, and the text indicates this was after the lengthy period described in Exodus 24:18 of forty days and forty nights.
