Why is Peter such an important person in the Bible?+
Peter was one of Jesus's twelve apostles and one of His closest friends. He became a leader of the early church and boldly shared the gospel message. Jesus said He would build His church on Peter (the rock), showing how important Peter was in God's plan. Peter also wrote two books of the Bible called 1 Peter and 2 Peter.
Did Peter ever stop being afraid and doubting?+
Yes! After the Holy Spirit filled Peter at Pentecost, he became very bold and brave. Even when he was arrested and put in jail for preaching about Jesus, he never denied his faith again. Peter learned to trust Jesus completely, and his story shows us that Jesus can help us overcome our fears too.
What happened to Peter after the Bible stories end?+
The Bible doesn't tell us everything that happened to Peter in his later life, but church history tells us that Peter continued to lead the early church in Jerusalem and traveled to other places to share the gospel. Most historians believe Peter eventually went to Rome and was killed for his faith in Jesus because he refused to stop preaching about Him.
